John is a regional agronomist for STRI’s agronomy department and he works from an office located in Wiltshire. He conducts visits throughout the central southern area of England and Wales whilst also consulting abroad in mainland Europe.  John is a regular speaker at trade conferences, association meetings, training events and is well published on a variety of turf management subjects.

Before joining STRI, John’s career was concerned with practical golf course maintenance, construction and project management; home and abroad.  He also completed a Master’s Degree in Turfgrass Science and spent time lecturing in Sports Turf Management. His thesis work concentrated on the sustainability of artificial/synthetic turf, on which he now consultants for STRI in addition to natural turf.

John is married and his interests are sailing, skiing, languages and travel.
