Richard is the agronomist for STRI's South Scotland region, working from a Glasgow base. He provides agronomic support at a wide range of sporting venues: golf courses, bowling greens, sports pitches and cricket grounds. Richard is STRI's Agronomist to the home of Scottish Rugby Union, Murrayfield. Before joining the STRI agronomy team, Richard graduated in Plant Sciences from the University of Sheffield. In addition to his academic qualifications Richard has a wide range of experience in turf management, both at home and abroad, having worked with the former curator of the Western Australia Cricket Association during a "round the world" trip. Richard is a keen sportsman, playing golf off a handicap of 18 and playing representative Rugby for Durham County and Sheffield University. His abiding passion, however, is cricket. Richard has been a member of the Northumberland Minor Counties squad, is an accredited ECB Senior Coach and is a level 2 IOG/ECB accredited groundsman. | |||||||||||||||||
