Dan’s job is to assist in running STRI’s independent trials.  Dan plays a large part in the day to day running of a variety of trials.  Current trials include fertilisation effects on turfgrass species behaviour and composition; wildflower establishment in golf rough areas; herbage yield trials and rooting behaviour of grass species treated with organic fertilisers.  Dan also maintains specialist equipment used by the Research department to high standard and is always looking for ways to improve on current designs.

Professional Experience

Dan joined STRI in June 2009 after attaining a 2:1 honours degree in Environmental Conservation from the University of Leeds.  He is part of a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) scheme over in east Leeds where he is an active member participating in producing locally grown food with a low carbon footprint.  He has a keen interest in all aspect of nature, which drives him to pursuit wildlife photography, dry stonewalling, green woodwork and gardening.
