Dale is a Design Technician for STRI Ltd based at head office in Bingley. Dale is involved in sending out fee proposals, carrying out feasibility studies, preparing specifications and providing background support and information on projects. Dale joined the STRI in 2008 having worked as a groundsman and Greenkeeper at some prestigious venues for 8 years. He worked at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina, USA as a Greenkeeper for a year as part of his degree studies at Myerscough College. After completion of his BSc Hons in Turfgrass Science he went on to work as a groundsman at The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, Wimbledon. At Wimbledon he took a lead role in the renovation and maintenance of the famous turf. A move to Blackburn Rovers followed working on the training grounds. There was a variety of constructions in use which proved challenging for maintenance and considering the high amount of use it received. |
Relevant ExperienceDale has over 8 years practical experience as a groundsman and Greenkeeper working on a variety of surfaces at a number of world class venues. He has worked with different constructions including USGA, suspended water table, pipe and slit drainage and indigenous. He is a specialist pitch consultant responsible for the design and specification of natural and synthetic pitches working within the Design Team. He is also involved in the production of Performance Specifications for the infield/football pitches as well as monitoring of site works. He is responsible for the design and specification, tendering procurement and contract administration of a wide range of sports facilities, including Bowling Greens, Croquet Lawns, Tennis Courts, Football Pitches, Rugby Pitches and Multi Use facilities. | |
