Irrigation System AuditThe objective of an audit is to prepare a report on your irrigation system to enable management to implement future operational and financial plans to ensure that an efficient and effective irrigation system is available to be used within the overall course maintenance program. With dwindling water resources in certain parts of the Uk, Ireland and Europe, a carefully planned and detailed audit can save you water and make more efficient use of the water resources available.
An audit should only be carried out on a fully functioning irrigation system with few, if any proplems. If the irrigation system has fundamental problems or is old and ailing, then a feasibility study would be more appropriate.
Where a client is considering the construction of a new course with an irrigation system, or upgrading, adding to or replacing an existing irrigation system a feasibility study will give you technical and financial appraisal sufficent to enable you to decide wether and what form you wish to proceed.
An accurate and specific irrigation design will ensure the efficient use of water and financial resources. We will produce initial designs based on the client’s requirements detailing the effective coverage within the areas to be irrigated, from which a full design, specification and budget costs can be produced.

The company will appraise tenders received, either through tender documents prepared by STRI or those submitted by separate individual companies, to give a true reflection of design, specification and costings.
Consultancy and engineering services are offered as a direct service to exising golf clubs who are upgrading adding to or replacing irrigation sytems and as a service to client building new golf courses.

For the efficient management and maintenance of a golf course accurate site plans are essential. Where these are not available STRI can carry out GPS Mapping surveys and where required integrate these with Ordnance Survey data.
A GPS map would identify green putting surfaces, bunker outlines, fairway close mown areas, tee playing surfaces, carry areas of walkways, in 2D with area spot heights. Irrigation and drainage system features visible on the surface can be surveyed.
The installation of an irrigation system is as important as the correct design to ensure that you recieve full value for the money spent.
STRI offers project management and site inspection/supervison of the installation at the discretion of the client.
