The Sports Turf Research Institute - Training

Ecology

Integrating Ecology into your Golf Course Management

This one and a half day training workshop is aimed at greenkeepers and other golf course professionals who have an interest in ecology but who are unsure of how to improve the health and wildlife value of their course.

The workshop involves both classroom-based learning and an outdoor practical session on the St Ives Golf Course which aims to put the new learning in context. St Ives Golf Club contains elements of open parkland, wooded parkland, quality upland heathland and water features, and is an ideal location to consider the diverse ecological problems experienced on UK golf courses and the solutions that can be put in place.

This combination of golf and ecology is only available through the professional skills of STRI. Our Ecologists are able to balance the cost and labour demands of course maintenance, the tactics and enjoyment of golf, and the need to preserve and enhance wildlife.

Every course is BASIS registered and supported by a comprehensive training folder. All delegates will recieve a certificate of attendance.
